    Just finished reading the section of 'The Conversations' where Murch and Ondaatje are discussing Murch's edit of Touch of Evil and enthusing about this guy's brilliance. Looks a little tin-pot to me.

    oh dear god, poor Orson. someone once said that you could trace his brilliance by his weight - the heavier the better his films - sadly, after watching all of them, I realised they were right. F for Fake is a genius masterstroke

    I totally agree about F for Fake. He's actually quite heavily padded in Chimes at Midnight though, which is where the above photo is taken from.
